Bass is in the smallest hut – If mounting space in the vehicle is scarce and existing car hifi systems badly need the “extra kick” in the low frequency range without great effort, the new HELIX active subwoofers U 10A and U 8A are the right choice. Driven by powerful, integrated Class AB amplifiers with 180 W RMS, the heavy-duty drivers with their rock-solid aluminum cones and heat-resistant voice coils easily transform the amplifier power into punchy bass. Thanks to comprehensive setting options like the adjustable, high-slope lowpass filter and particularly sensitive phase control, the low frequency reproduction can be perfectly adapted to the acoustic conditions inside the vehicle. Equipped with a 2-channel highlevel input with automatic turn on function as well as a 2-channel lowlevel RCA input a seamless integration is guaranteed. And thanks to the especially shallow cabinet design the installation will be a no-brainer, especially if space is extremely limited – these small “bass boosters” may even fit under the seats, for example.

The APS 10 D is designed to deliver maximum performance in a sealed enclosure with ultra-compact volumes, from 10 lt. to 12 lt. The dual voice-coil and single voice coil versions feature push connectors for ease of wiring and configurations. Prima subwoofer components have been developed with a primary goal: to deliver high output in tight spaces. Output is a matter of excursion; the more air the cone moves, the more output. However reduced mounting depth traditionally has meant low excursion. Prima subwoofers employ a special cone-dustcap-basket geometry which guarantees large excursion of the mobile group, while keeping the mounting depth to a minimum. The surround and spider have been carefully designed to prevent the “rocking-mode” phenomenon. The cooling circuit has been designed with air vents on the basket underneath the spider, eliminating the need for vents on the bottom-plate. This allows the subwoofer to be mounted close to the back wall of the enclosure, making the most of the reduced mounting depth.
